Backstory ๐ถ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Sometimes an idea for an episode strikes me in the middle of a workday.
This episode came about because I was having a really hard time trying to watch Shadow and Bone and I just wasnโt feeling like making an episode about it. I know. I am one of the super small minority of people who didnโt immediately love Shadow and Bone. I do still plan to give it a go again in the future, but right now, my mind just couldnโt really get into it.
I got thinking about autumn and being cozy and the idea for this episode was born. There are so many books and TV series that just make me feel cozy and I love to curl up on a blustery day and watch or read.
Recommendations ๐๏ธ
I know there were a bunch of recommendations in the episode and I wanted to share those again here in case you missed them.
- Star Trek (any of the series) - ๐บ Available on Paramount+ in the USA (may be available on Netflix in other regions. All Star Trek series were available on Netflix until very recently.)
- The Mists of Avalon - ๐บ Unavailable for streaming on a subscription service, but you can purchase or rent it from Apple Tv, Amazon, etc.
- 10th Kingdom - ๐บ Free on PlutoTV or Amazon Prime Video!
- Uprooted by Naomi Novik - ๐ You can likely borrow it from your local library using the Libby app, or buy it anywhere you like to buy books. I most definitely own this as a hard copy because it's one of my favorite books of all time.
- The Road by Cormac McCarthy - ๐ Same as Uprooted. Borrow from your library or buy anywhere you like to buy books.
- Vagrant Queen - ๐บ Available on SyFy App or at SyFy.com
- Wynonna Earp - ๐บ Available in its entirety on Netflix.
- The Space Trilogy by CS Lewis - ๐ Borrow via the Libby App or buy wherever you like to buy books. Since it's a classic trilogy, you can usually find it for a very reasonable price. I have a collector's edition because I love it so much.
- Harry Potter Films - ๐ผ All 8 films are available on HBO Max.
- Once Upon a Time - ๐บ Available on Disney+
- BONUS: Carmilla Web series - ๐บ The Carmilla web series was something I completely forgot to mention in the episode and it's one I love to rewatch every year around the fall and winter. It's cozy, fun, campy, and thoroughly enjoyable. Funny, full of heart, and absolutely worth a watch. You can see the series in its entirety on KindaTV's YouTube channel, or you can buy the entire series on VHX. If you buy on VHX, you get hours of behind-the-scenes content, interviews, alternate scenes, etc.
